I wander Lonely as a cloud

The wind causes very unusual cloud formations here.
A few in this series of photos look like a spider web - or a piece of cheesecloth spread across the sky - cirrus clouds swept in an arc by the wind.
And there is one golden pink cumulus cloud with a cirrus cloud coming out below it like a scarf of white.
Also the sky can hold three or four different colours of cloud.

Morning Glory

These are the skyscapes I saw on the walk home this evening and on the walk up the mountain in the morning. The sky tonight looked painted with feathers. The mountains this morning shone as the sun rose in the Valley and touched the peaks.
I see such glory and beauty in this landscape as I walk and I hold images of such devastation under the sky in Haiti.

Sheer bliss, Sheer exhaustion

What joy I had today...now I am waiting for the aches & pains.

Today started with beautiful sky as I walked up to the Centre to join a group..... then a ride to the Continental Divide (border of Alberta & BC) which is about 40 minutes from Banff, and a guided 3 hour snowshow trek through Chickadee Valley.
It was so beautiful I took a great many photos.
My right snowshow came off a few times and I would end up in thigh deep snow until the guide helped me back on top and onto my snowshoe.
Magical deep woods and open valleys with very deep snow. We have almost no snow in Banff so it was wonderful to get in deep, powder, pure white snow.
The trees looked like something out of Dr. Seuss.......

Today and Yesterday

I know I keep "raven" about how beautiful it is here through the pictures I put on this blog but I have to say it is so beautiful and changing from moment to moment that I can't help but take so many photographs.
Today I went for a walk at Vermilion Lakes with my friend Audrey. The sun and shadow played over the mountains and the ice on the lakes in perpetually shifting patterns that were like highlights and spotlights. There is some open water and four mallards were toughing it out - having stayed for the winter.
My favourite photo from today is the hole in the ice.
Yesterday we went to Cascade Ponds again. By the way, Santi is delirious that her "mum" is home. And she was also beside herself to find her very own "Mini-Me" at the ponds. Santi loves nothing better than "herding" another dog as it plays Frisbee or chuck-it.
And I took another picture of my seed-pod snowflowers with more snow added to their blossoms.
I head back to work on Monday so I may not be posting as many photos for a while.
